At Ginkgo Yards, we proudly employ local people and foster a workplace culture built on diversity, equality, opportunity, and strong community connection across the Macedon Ranges.
We actively partner with the Head Start Program, employing and training school-based apprentices in conjunction with Murray Mallee TAFE. As an accredited employer, students from Gisborne Secondary College, Kyneton High School, Sacred Heart College, and Salesian College Sunbury have completed apprenticeships and work experience placements with Ginkgo Yards.
We are proud to maintain a 100% retention rate of team members who have trained and qualified with us over the years, reflecting our commitment to long-term careers in the landscaping and construction industry. We were also proud to celebrate recognition as a 2024 Young Achiever Award finalist in the Macedon Ranges, reinforcing our dedication to developing skilled local talent.
Through hands-on learning, mentorship, and real-world experience, we create meaningful pathways into the landscaping and construction industry, helping shape the next generation of skilled tradespeople. Ginkgo Yards is committed to supporting apprentices and trainees with valuable education, practical experience, and long-term career opportunities.
Beyond our workforce, we proudly support local organisations, sporting clubs, and community initiatives throughout the Macedon Ranges. In recent years, we have delivered and continue to complete upgrades to kindergartens, schools, botanical gardens, and sporting precincts on behalf of the Macedon Ranges Shire Council, reflecting our ongoing commitment to giving back to the communities where we live and work.

Founded by Luke Basham in 2001, Ginkgo Yards is an established landscape and construction company delivering high-quality outdoor spaces across the Macedon Ranges and surrounding regions.
With a strong focus on practical design, quality workmanship, and long-term functionality, Luke and his team work across residential and commercial projects to create landscapes that are visually refined, functional, and built to last. Backed by extensive knowledge in horticulture, soil systems, and landscape construction, Ginkgo Yards specialises in all aspects of outdoor construction, including garden development, hard landscaping, stonework, timber structures, steel features, and complete outdoor environments.
Built on strong local relationships and a hands-on approach, Ginkgo Yards is committed to delivering reliable service, attention to detail, clear communication, and professionally finished outdoor spaces tailored to each project. From initial planning through to project completion, every aspect of the work is carried out with a strong focus on quality, durability, and craftsmanship.

FOUNDER & DIRECTOR
Luke Basham is the founder and director of Ginkgo Yards, bringing years of hands-on experience across landscape construction, project management, and outdoor design. With a strong background in biological farming and soil systems, Luke combines practical construction knowledge with a deep understanding of how outdoor environments function and evolve over time.
Skilled in working with natural stone, timber, steel, and structural landscaping materials, Luke has built a reputation for delivering high-quality outdoor spaces that are both functional and built to last. His approach focuses on clear communication, reliable project delivery, and attention to detail from concept through to completion.
